hey, I'm pretty new at growing bonsai trees and have wanted another for a while. however, I'm a bit lost on which one I should get. if you have a bonsai tree that you love and is relatively easy to grow, please tell me. thank you so much.

Alena, welcome to the forum.
Where are you located? Country, city, hardyness zone? North or South hemisphere ? Are you planning to grow them outdoors ?(strongly advisable).
I find Ficus, Elms, Trident Maples, Firethorns and Cotoneaster very easy to grow as bonsai.

I live in North America around the Appalachian mountains. it's pretty sunny here. I was hoping to grow it indoors. I have a few plants and one bonsai and wouldn't mind some color. I have looked around for some trees and found a few I liked. one of them being a willow tree. do they do well indoors? and are they easy to grow? thank you for your time.

A willow:
- is not easy to grow as bonsai
- is definitely not suitable to grow indoors

In your region, Googling what native species you have, seems you have a pretty big list of usable trees and shrubs - that do need to be outdoors:

If you want color, maybe a prunus (like Prunus avium, if I'm right, that does grow there?)

I think I will get a Prunus. thank you for telling me. I was looking for a tree with flowers and found one called Jaracanda Mimosifolia that I thought was very nice.
would you happen to know anything about it? I am looking it up on google myself as well. thanks

I know nothing at all about Jacaranda, but fortunately, we do have someone here who does. If you like flowers... he has an awesome profile picture.

Yes, I have some Jacaranda, but.... They are tropical trees. Difficult when cold.

Yup. Very difcult to keep tropical trees happy in cliates wher they need to winter indoors. (My sao Paulan friend is pushing buds for the first time sice october, near bear!)

As already said in this topic, Jacaranda's belong outdoors.
If you want to grow bonsai, you need optimal conditions for the tree. Indoors, these conditions are not ideal. The tree will not thrive and it will be hard to keep it in optimal health. If a tree is not in optimal health, you cannot work on it.

In other words: you cannot grow a jacaranda indoors, and trying to grow a jacaranda indoors as a bonsai is completely out of the question.
