the scheff isn't much right now, just a small potted piece I found at a yard sale. I have seen quite a bit done with them, the Orlando Bonsai Society had a lot of them on display at the show at Epcot a few weeks ago. They can start to get really Banyan looking

Here's mine in its training stage. It's the only photo I have right now.

Here's a link to the dwarf schefflera. www.bonsaihunk.us/info/ScheffleraBonsai.html

Unfortunately, schefflera & rubber tree are not so suitable for bonsai..

We'll see about that, already getting leaf reduction on the rubber trees. The dwarf shefflara I've seen used quite a bit, and I got a freebie, so I might as well try it.[/quote]

I am curious. Is it just because you have very few trees? I do not understand why you come to a forum, then ask for species to use. When recommended that certain species are not so suitable for bonsai, you just refute it and basically state: You do not know what you are talking about. I have seen it done.

I would be very curious to see good bonsai from Schefflera and F. Elastica. I have only seen very few schefflera that I would call anything different from a shrub. Those were decades old, and grown the the tropics. I have never seen a f. elastica that could be called a bonsai.

^^^Rubber trees were dumpster rescues I am playing with not sure if they will amount to anything but the leaves are staying at about half normal size so far, the schefflara I have seen done before, the dwarf one works pretty well.
