Thanks to you leatherback I have came up with another sketch abandoning the twin trunk , you're right I really need to consider all options 
I think like this it looks more majestic but maybe too tall for a Hawthorn?

Ok I think I've got it now lol thanks kristof I'll try make another sketch
Thanks Indo Andreas , i will wait till next year before cutting anything , im just training my eye to" see the tree within the tree" for now there are buds growing all over the top half of the tree and on the other small trunks but I am hoping it will develop more lower down on the main trunk .
