Depending on local climate, this is pretty much a way to kill any tree. The soil in most climates will dry out in a couple of days and the tree will die by the time the second week is up.

In my area it snowed once last winter, with very low accumulation and not enough for one watering.

The lemon juice might be good advice, but I use azalea fertilizer and Kanuma. I water every day, sometimes twice in the summer, and my azaleas are in their second blooming of the year, so it can't be too bad practice.

I am watering my Azaleas every day, and it is only about 25C daytime. I use rainwater if I can but tap water is fine. Never heard of using lemon juice and would not.
