Bonsai in moss - over or under watering? was created by Bonsaibloke

Hi,

Something is for sure, my bonsai is not happy.

I got her 3 months ago and placed her on the table where it's light and she gets 2-3 hours of direct sunlight every day. I water exactly 30ml every 2 weeks as directed. I've now moved her out of direct sunlight, but still with plenty of light. I also use a watering can that may have very small residue of plant fertilizer.

What should I do? Not sure if I'm wating too much or too little or it was the direct sunlight or the fertilizer residue.

I am very sorry for your plant, but unfortunately this is not considered a bonsai.
On the other hand it is way too underwatered, almost dead.
Water it every two days, not weeks.

30ml every two weeks!! It is screaming out for water! This poor plant is on deaths door. Take it out of that case and water it. It may live, You should be watering almost every day, depending if the soil is starting to dry, but as it is in moss then if the moss is dry water.

Hmm, looks like someone got mis-sold to!

Thanks. How much would you water every 2 days?

If you are in the northern hemisphere, bring it outdoors. First in shade and during a 4 weeks period slowly move into full sun.

Do the pot have drainage holes?
