Jason Hanrahan is not a bonsai nurcery employee. He works in an office doing administrative tasks.

Oh well, that part on what plants can do, require some belief I think.
I don't think plants will "feel" the interventions we do, they don't have a nervous system, there are a few chemical reactions, but it's kind of different.
I mean, we sometimes make big cuts on our trees, wire them, shallow their roots, remove their leaves... And there are a few people that actually think that's torturing them, but the reality is, that Bonsaists' trees are very well treated, they're receive a good amount of nutrients, are well positioned, are cared for pests, are not eaten or stomped by animals, and so on... Most trees in the wild have to struggle for those things.
But about what you said about losing trees, you'll have to overcome that, we do lose trees, it happens, and if it didn't yet, chances are that it will, it's kind of part of the learning curve, you shouldn't punish yourself too much for that.

That's alright, but he probably knows much more than I do. I know what office work is like because I proofread for a publisher.

Albas, thank you for calming my painful fear by reminding me of a lovely forest in Albany, New York, where native Pitch Pines need controlled blazes to help them drop their seeds.
A philosophy professor told me that people must suffer to become wise. Before he said it, I knew it from experience. As emotional pain can help me conquer my faults, deadly fire can promote new lives. If Pitch Pines could talk, they'd thank the Rangers for the flames. Though the Pine Push can simulate Dante's Inferno, it even imitates Purgatory, where the heat benefits everybody.
You've changed my perspective and brought me hope. Fear is what we feel when we expect even merely possible evil. Now I know my Juniper's brownish spots may be opportunities for it and me. It can recover. I can watch it do that.
I've fallen in love with Japan and Bonsai partly because its landscapes captivate me. I'm even learning to speak Japanese because I hope to visit that elegant country.

I'm sorry about the accidental extra posts. Since I don't know how to delete them, a moderator will do that for us. They're here because I tried. to link one to a YouTube video, a link that wouldn't post. I tried a few times since the server didn't tell me I succeeded.
