What to do?

Hi Bonsai Community

Could I request some advice on what to do with my Japanese Black Pine. 

I've been watering and keeping it well lit during these summer months in the UK but seems like the needles are now turning brown, is this because these were it's first needles or is there something else going on here? 

Do I need to look into repotting and new soil also?

I hope it is outside, this tiny seedling needs to grow. You will just have to water when needed and wait. In 5 of 6 years you may have a plant big enough to do something with. It is a living plant and needles do die, so nothing to be concerned about, unless that is it is not outside. There is nothing else you can do now but wait.

Thanks for the quick response, yes it has been outside, just brought it in to take the photo. Back outside already. 

Ok no worries then, I will keep an eye on it and hopefully in a few years time, will be able to do something with it.

In the meantime why not look around a few garden centres and see if you can find some cheap plants you can play with. There are loads of different plants suitable also find your local club, get to a show and nurseries, buy a book and read about bonsai. Look here on this web site for videos, they are excellent and will help you get into bonsai if you are really interested.
