Hello,
I am selecting between several species for a Niwaki to be planted in gravelled soil in a shaded patio (around 3 hours of sun in the late morning) on the coast of Catalonia. The spot is protected from wind by Cypress trees and walls, for the most part, but as a result is also shaded most of the day (but not all). It is well lit, however. The soil will be watered with drip irrigation and covered in gravel.
My options are the following:
- "Buddhist Pine" (podocarpus macrophyllus)
- Japanese Holly (ilex crenata)
- Chinese Witch Hazel (loropetalum chinense)
- Ficus Concinna
- Boxleaf Eugenia (syzygium buxifolium)
