Over bent branch

I hope you can offer some advice. While wiring my Black Pine, I overbent a branch. It was so pliable that the bark began to tear and separate. I immediately unwound the wire and taped the injury to try and save the branch.
Now, the needles are turning brown and the branch appears quite weak. Do you think I should cut off the branch, or is there something else I can do to save it?

This is the time of the year when JBPs needles is browning and shedding naturally. I would not do anything until I have seen how the buds responds in spring.
