Good Morning,
First post on the forum, My name is Alan freshly retired from HM Government at the palace of westminster.
So I purchased a cutting potted in the correct soil stem is about 5" long leaves all fell I left the plant alone with
a bag covering it. After about four weeks I now have a sprout at the base soil level and a second at the top.
Both are about 4" long very healthy could I not leave them both as is, or do I need be strong and do my
Edward scissorhands.

Thankyou Alan.

Weeping willow is a decidious temperate tree. They shed leafs at the same time of the year ecery year.

If you are in the nortern hemisphere and are keeping the tree outdoors there is nothing to worry about.

And in regards to your initial question.....No Edvard scisserhands! This is a young cutting, not a mature tree. Let it grow wild next season.
