Hello, I have bought this Larix Decidua from a nursery. I have already repotted it to a bigger pot to make the trunk fatten a bit. I would like to do a formal upright, but there are not branches in the lower part. Do you think there is the chance that this specie can produce new buds in the lower trunk. Or should I aim to a different style?

This Larch is probably a 2 year old seedling. It will not but lower down on the trunk. I will not suit a formal upright, possibly Literati but first it needs 4 or 5 years growing preferably in the ground. Or you could wire and bend the trunk to about 1/4 the height it is and then let it grow.
