Japanese maple sapling leaves changing color was created by mellzmell

Hello,

I repotted my Japanese maple sapling about 2 weeks ago and the leaves are turning brown. It’s getting adequate watering and drainage and I used bonsai soil to plant it in. I had it inside all winter and when I re-potted it I moved it outside. Could that have been too abrupt for it? Would it help to move it back in for a bit?

Help!

Did they keep the leaves all winter?

Or did you place them directly in the sun when you brought them outside?

I’m having a similar problem with my Red Japanese Maple. I’m not sure if my issue is leaf scorch from the wind, or root issues because the soil retains a lot of water, or all of the above. Not sure what I should do. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the empire!

The maple looks a little scruffy. It is however also past the prime time for maples. I find most of my maples over summer to look a little more worn down due to wind, sun, missed waterings (:S ).

So far, I d not see anything that would worry me a lot in my garden, unless it changes very fast.
