Thank you for the explanation,
I am going to wait to repot anyway, as i also done a bit of foliage pruning a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering though, since I haven't repotted in 5 years is it a good or bad idea to do a heavy pruning this winter/spring or is it better to take it easy this year ?

It is always better for the health of the tree to be gentle when pruning roots.
