Anchoring the Drainage mesh

I have been reading various books and I have read through this website but no where has it specified if the wires that you use to anchor the Drainage mesh go inside the pot or on the bottom of the bottom. I can include pictures if needed. Thank you for your responses

wire ends should go out of pot. if you think a bit there is no other way around as mesh stays in the pot, not out of it.
