Bacardi Rum? Uhmmm, let me advise a bit on the matter... I might not ever be a Bonsai Master, but I do know my fair share on Rums B) ... I think you should seriously consider trying Havana Club 7 years (and up), Santiago or Matusalem rums... They are really something

Let's do a video.

Unfortunately, the 'Bonsai New Easy Method' has disappeared from Youtube, but there are other good training videos:

Working On A Pre-Bonsai

What we learn in the videos:
- You can create a bonsai in 30 minutes
- There is no need to look at the possibilities of your tree. Upright is the way to go.
- It is a good idea to wire your trunk first and to prune branches and remove foliage afterwards, so you get a better view on the trunk
- If you crush any foliage while wiring, you can deal with it later. Maybe you can remove it. But let's wire it first. Just carefully guide the wire through the branches that you are going to remove later.
- Junipers should be pruned in winter, when they are dormant
- Pruning, wiring, bending, shaping and repotting all can be at the same time, in winter. It won't hurt the tree. Trees have no feelings. And it's dormant, remember?
- When you repot, you shouldn't let the soil dry out a bit first or withhold watering for a few days. It's so much nicer to work with very wet soil The tree will love it too!
- Fix the position of the tree by using a wire, tighten it, and then decide the right position for the tree
- If the rootball is too large, simply cut off 1/3 making one cut, straight through the roots. If it still doesn't fit, rake out some soil. If it still doesn't fit, make it fit! Who'se the boss here, you or the tree? If only half of the rootball fits, that's fine, the other half can stay above the pot. It will hardly give you problems when watering. The exposed hair roots will die, but that's no problem, we'll simply cut 'm away.
