Hi. i have a boxwood (im fairly sure it is) which isnt looking too happy not sure why, if its the soil it came with or something im doing wrong. its always thirsty but i do let it try out a bit between being watered. the leaves are yellowing and it just doenst seem to want to do much. the lower leaves seems to be covered in something sticky, maybe from the buds? i cant see any pests on it.
suggestions would be great, i want this guy to get back to being happy and green again

As you have it inside it is not surprising that it is stressed and suffering

Keep doing that soon you will have not Unhappy Boxwood but Dead Boxwood.

- Trees dont like be moved around - .We only take home subtropical or tropical species for the winter as they are not created for such climate.

This schrub does not like indoors and it obviously is trying to tell you this. This species do perfect in winter in freezing conditions, I have some of them on my country house for decades.

I have an unheated front porch which gets cold at night and in the summer gets really hot. Would this be a suitable location for him to stay in?

I am not a dendrologist or gardening expert but my knowledge and observations so far tells me this plant will do much better outdoor, where it belongs. Also, weather in UK is mild I dont think you have freezing winters there whatsoever.

Yes.
I have killed a couple of boxwood for just keeping then inside. They don't like it.
