I think people need to interact more! That's what forums or for anyway rite. Anyway I got a weeping willow in my backyard I was wondering if I could grow bonsai from a clipping of that tree? If so, How can I do it? lol thanks people!!!!! Don't be scared to respond now :)

Can you post a picture of your willow here, then we can see if and how we can make a bonsai from a clipping of it ;)

Hi, im new to this site so hi all lol

Hope to get some advice from some experienced bonsai growers as i just bought my first bonsai from the garden centre today, hav'nt got a clue what to do with it, guess i'll just let it grow for now lol

howdy yall,

just dustin off the outside trees ;) :).its been a long cold winter this year and I learned a lesson... if you burry your trees in the winter watch out for rabbits:ohmy: :evil: if it wasnt for the wires it would have killed stuff.ill get some pics in next weekend ,i have a new camera,so i get to play with

I just started 7 weeping willows this past week. they are relatively easy to propagate. Take cuttings (As thick as you want) and put them in water. Presto in a few weeks you'll see roots. Wait about a month and pot them up. After they are potted keep the pot about 25% submerged in water for a few weeks out of direct sunlight. They need to be repotted a few times a year because the roots grow so fast. Early spring and mid summer is the time, so I have read. Good luck and keep us informed. I'll post pictures of my willows progress if any one is interested.

Cool! I want to take clippings from my willow too. (See post in pests and diseases forum.) I feel kind of alone, there's only one other American that I know of, everyone else is from Australia! Oh well, bonsais unite!
