Hello! Ever since I watched the original Karate Kid when it first came out, I've always wanted a Bonsai tree. Today I made an impulse buy from a Japanese couple who set up on an empty street corner I passed on the way to the grocery store. I paid $50.

I took my time looking over dozens of them and I kept coming back to this one, it just spoke to me. I know it's a Juniper but I'm not sure which???

Due to my living circumstance, it will have to stay indoors next to my window like in the picture year round. I've bought a spray bottle to water it and put it into a clay drainage platter.

Glad to be here and thanks for such an awesome website! Now I'm off to finished reading the Juniper care guide, already watched the YouTube video.

Hello and welcome.
What sort of juniper is totally irrelevant, because it will be dead soon. Trees belong outside, they do not survive indoors. Btw, that's not a bonsai, it's just a young juniper ...

I posted asking what type of Juniper it was because I am curious. If you think it's irrelevant, then why waste your time responding?

Well, I hope it survives. I have a fan circulating air and it gets direct sunlight from my south-facing window most of the day. I bought some Uncle Bill’s Liquid Bonsai fertilizer for it too.

Any idea how old it is?

Wow... that's a rip-off...
Real value of juniper and pot is 10,00, max.

This is a young juniper, as said. 5, 6 years old, maybe. Probably taken from a cutting a year ago.

You can hope from today to christmas. If you don't bring your tree outside, then I guarantee you it will die.

Because the question is irrelevant. While there is a lot of variety in junipers, it does not really matter all that much - they mostly require the same care. One of the parts of care for junipers is that they need to be outdoors, in their natural environment. If not, they'll al die, invariably, in the long run.

Not that it's not been written on this site a gazillion sites before.

Alright, I guess I'll figure out a way to get it outside during the day at least 5 days a week.

Not good enough- plants dislike being moved around, and certainly outside/ inside..
