Is it ok to plant a bonsai tree in a hanging glass globe?

I researched this online, and nobody has done this.

I am not surprised no one has done it. The tree would be very small to begin with. How would you prune it? You can't keep taking it out. No sorry, stick to Tillandsias or orchids or any other small plant but it is not for bonsai

Main problem I would see is drainage. Of course, you could find a globe with drainage holes in it.

yes, it would be fine, as long as there is a hatch, so you can prune it and water it, it would save a lot of struggle and time. but you can get one with no hatch.

I have never heard anything so stupid. No trees is going to survive in a container like that. No drainage for a start.

Sounds like it comes down to drainage, since there are glass globe planters with openings for pruning but none with drainage.

Is there a way to solve the drainage problem?

It would be really awesome if I could pull this off. Hanging planters are great space-savers and a glass sphere around a tree reminds me of one of my favorite movies, The Fountain. The idea is visually striking but tranquil.

Solution is called: A glass drill.

A container is just a container. As long as you make sure the trees needs are met, you could work with anything. I have seen bonsai grown in old tires..

Yep, it's such a stupid idea to put plants and trees in glass containers (or bonzariums )

Broaden your artistic mind. It would look awesome if it could be achieved. There's got to be a way.
