Thank you Samantha, in deed I think it is. It took me nearly two hours to make up my mind while I was wandering through the nursery... There were quite a few interesting specimens but I finally decided to pick this one up because Pyracantha is a very strong species that will forgive a lot of begginer's mistakes.

Hi guys, well I´m posting an update on my tree.

This weekend I finished clearing it a little bit and also styled it. Of course, I´m posting some pics too so you can give me your opinions, advices, likes, dislikes, points of view and anything you might consider helpful or appropriate. I´m not sure myself how to proceed with a few branches. I mean, I don´t know if I can keep them or I should remove them... For instance, the low branch at the right of the trunk (taking as a reference the Front_View) I don´t know what to do with it, I´m not sure if it fits the design as it is right now... That is why I need your help!

Thank you all in advance!!!

Alain

I would probably be more extreme in cutting back, and rotate the plant a bit, to go for this as a base to start building branches. The big branch on the left certainly has to go: Branches that are more than 30% of the trunk at the point where they connect almost always look unnatural..

Great, excellent job LB... Thanks for the advices... A couple of more questions though... Which big branch on the left you mean? The one that cascades or the one that it is at the beginning of the cascading branch? I ask you this, because I really love the semi-cascade and cascade style and I wouldn't like to lose this perspective... And now... The red line you draw is how you would model the tree or the pieces you think I need to cut off?

Thanks again man!

Well, sorry LB... Scratch that... Now I know what you meant... Yes, the red lines are the pieces you think I need to cut back... Ok...

Hey,

I can see your cascade angle.. I feel however that for a cascading branch, it would be too high up in the tree. For me, the tree would be unbalanced.

(And yes, in a cascade you would have a heavy branch, which would be the main trunkline, I think).

Hey if I was you I would definitely prun your bonsai down, at the moment it just looks like a messy shrub. Up to you but! ;)
