Bought an Ulmus bonsai! was created by leatherback

Finally! I bought myself a pre-styled bonsai!
Now what should I do with this? Any suggestions?

It was already time!
This seed planting you are used to, takes you nowhere, LB.
WOW!
I like the blue glaze of the pot (it matches beautifully this bonsai), the "S" shaped movement, the "T-Bar" branches, the branches growing inside the S turns, the long, elegant bare trunk, the general technique of styling (clip&grow?).
The silt over the soil and the trunk that proves you've been watering it every day are a must, the natural organic soil perfect for the Netherlands, and finally, the amazing nebari (wild style the Japanese call it, isn't it?).
Congrats.
You should be proud of your bonsai!

PS - Don't pay attention to these people screaming "BIG TRUNKS! BIG TRUNKS!". They are envious of your slim tree.

Ah, defoliate it!
It is spiritual, the wood forms an angel flying away.

Or...
Do the obvious:
chop it down to the first turn and repot it immediately.

Looks exactly the samev as my unique naturally styles s-shaped ulmus that I got for free. Let's do the same and see who gets the best result :)

So, I compared, and sorry LB, but my ulmus looks much better:

- You are missing the first branch
- I have that beautiful second branch, growing from the inner bend, crossing the trunk in a lovely, natural way
- I have the same T-bar on top, but my tree is already developing foliage pads while your tree is a bit of a mess

Looking at the soil, it is clear that the grower has done his utter best to prevent overwatering. The soil does not touch the walls of the pot, it is pretty dense so excess water will freely flow from the top along the sides of the pot, so the roots will never get too much water.

Even my pot looks better!

This is unfair, Auk.
Yours is a finished bonsai, while LB's is still in the refinement stages. It will get there!

I never thought I’ll see something similar in Auk’s or LB’s property. That shows mature humor :)

Guys, you know the recipe. Inside in a windowsill, one week you forget watering, one week 3 times a day gorged with water and you’ll achieve the trend.

Ok, today I repotted, trimmed and wired it. I do have some fertilizer, but not with me. I will show the result later.
