Im just 7 months into this wonderful hobby, and i already have owned 10 trees, 7 of them are still with me. But it is suprising that they live and thrive when i think about all the relocation, repotting, pruning, wiring and fertilizing i did with them in the start. Now i am getting more and more knowledge about this.
The first one died because i pruned and re-styled with wire every 2 week. I pruned it so hard that it went from a ok broom style Elm to a stub. Then i repotted it from import clay soil to a poor garden plant soil, then to a crazy homenade mix. No wonder that died.
Second one i underwatered, since i was too worried about overwatering.
Third one i just forgot, since i got new trees. It’s a shame. But now i am more balanced in my hobby. It was all chinese elms, so they endured good.
