I have an old bougainville that i purchased this spring and was wondering if it would do well in a vivosun grow tent with a vivosun 100w full spectrum grow light during the winter? I am located in zone 8b in the US.
Or is it better to let it over winter in a cold room above 50F and below 60F and let it go dormant, if i can achieve this?
Thank you.

It depends on which species it is. You need to keep it growing so above 10C and in bright light, or above 5C and dormant. I found them very difficult to overwinter and gave up in the end.

I think you need to keep it growing, if it loses leaves it may not come back. That's what I found with them. Keep it in the best light you can and above 10C.

I am not experienced with bouganvillae, but with grow lamps. I understand from Google that bouganvillae is full sun tree and base my answer on that.
100w is not much light for full sun trees. I use 300w in my grow tent and the light intensity is too low to keep trees growing already 1 meter from the light.
You may be able to put the light close to the tree and be able to make it thrue the winter. But you have to accept som leaf burn.

First time using a grow light. I have experience keeping planted fresh water tanks but not much on this side.
This is the light on plan on using in the grow tent made by the same company. 24x24x36 grow tent.

That is a very small tent. My experience is that small growing tents is extreamly hard to control the environment in. Humidity is always to high and temperature risk to get up to high daytime.

Well here it is in the grow tent. Not to concerned about heat since all summer in TX it gets north of 100 degrees. Humidity is around 40-50%.
There will be a fan in there soon to move the air around. Tent is built to grow pot so very well built equipment.

Lets see if I understood this correct. So you bought a grow light and a grow tent first. And after purshasing you asked if it would work?
