Bone meal as fertiliser?? 1 year 8 months ago #30245

Hm. Nots sure that just because something is wired and carved is is a bonsai. That wod mean some of my worst trees are started. And some of the best trees will never become bonsai as they will neber be carved. It is not the woring that makes it the bonsai but the impression a tree gives of age, maturity, in my view.

I just used wiring and carving as an example of techniques used and time spent to make a bonsai , it was just a metaphor to explain the similarities I see between the transformation of a plant into a bonsai and a newbie into a bonsai artist .

I just realized you might have been using a metaphor too , in that case I reply " other than all the techniques you can learn and apply to a tree , the most important thing to learn to become a bonsai artist or make a bonsai is patience ".

I haven't used any bone/blood meals yet. Can you mention their benefits?

It is a fertilizer. Nothing special about it. What counts are the levels of nutrients and trace elements.
