Hi I'm new to having a bonsai my husband bought me a bonsai tree from a local supermarket it looked OK at first then all the leaves curled up and turned yellow I water it regularly I check with finger in soil if feels dry I water it by placing in sink and soak for 5 mind or so I have feed with a slow release feeder I was told to prune it so I did but still doesn't look happy please help

i think messages without proper punctuation are hard to read it may be dead or it may not be dead but in our experience mostly they are dead but i cannot tell as you did not include a photo so i cannot see the status you should not soak them did you get guidelines what species did they say it is supermarkets don't sell bonsai but mallsai
Try to use proper punctuation as it will make people want to read and answer your question.
Soaking the roots may be the cause of the problem as it promotes root rot. I'm not sure who told you to prune or why you did it, but that probably won't have helped.
