Hi there, i cannot say much about care or tyle but i do know that it is a climber (not much help) and that it is very poisionous ao not eat it. If you somehow crush a leaf and then touch it then wash yourr hands. But i do know that wisteria gives one of the most spectacular displays in early summer.

Good luck ;)

You could cut back in December. And it should bud back quite well. But when I look at the pictures, the trunk is so thin, you could probably roll the vine up a bit and it will fit in the car :D

haha Leatherback, yes it does look like that, however, the wood is actually slightly hard to bend further down( and I would be afraid of breaking it ) also my car is very small. And thank you so much, I will cut it back in December then, will make my life much easier =).

Here are some pictures I took of it just yesterday,....I was wondering when I cut it back, if I cut it back to about 5-6 inches from where it enters the ground, will this help it get larger in the trunk? Or what is the best distance to cut it back so that I get rid of that strange bend hard bend you can see in the first picture and also keep it from having such a straight trunk. I thought if I cut it back farther down, it would most likely get thicker, and also the leader I would create could be wired and bent so as to make it more interesting instead of just straight up? please any advice on these questions would be greatly appreciated =)

I think it depends on what style you want.

So I am going to cut me wisteria back, and I want it to eventually look like the one I linked below, so Question is, how far back should I cut it first time to help it look like this one???

I think you will need to wire it first into the cascade look.

Lol.. you would first let it grow about 50 years to create a solid trunk. Then you cut back to 4 inches and create a canopy from the new sprouts.

The tiny sprout you have needs a serious number of years browing before it gets close to a haircut. Don't even bother with bending unless you want extreme curves in there: Wisteria is a vine and will be pliable for years to come.

Don't worry. It will be ok. Are you planning on putting it in the ground somewhere? Ideally you just chuck it in the ground, have a look once a year to verify all is going well. Then within a couple of years you should start to see some serious swelling of the main vine. If grapevines are anything to go by (As I am still planning on getting a wisteria myself), some 10 years should give you a nice fat vine. (The 50 years was a bit extreme, and I used it as an indication of a serious long time before you can do something).

Not sur ewhy you felt you had to cut the vine to transport it. You can probably coil it up quite well..
