That's what these shops that sell these plants say. They also say it's a bonsai.

Chris, pictures?

I love dawn redwood and bald cypress. We have a dawn redwood in the front yard and cuttings from it growing in the bonsai porch.

Bonsai is an art. Art is made by artists. This tree is massproduced for a market by a Company to gain profit. But dont despair. If you want you can become an artist and make it a bonsai. It is not too late, it is still a young tree.

Have a look here, so you better have an idea what sort of criteria are used to call something a bonsai. I think that might help towards how you make a tree into bonsai: www.growingbonsai.net/why-is-my-tree-not-a-bonsai/

Hello everyone

My name's Brandon live in South Florida I'm 28 and have a few trees. Really started collecting this past year. But have messed with plants my whole life. Really enjoy everything about it. Hope to learn much more as time goes on. With a great nursery down the road I can't help but spend my weekend there. Wish everyone the best.

Cheers

Wish everyone well
