Hello everybody,
As my nickname suggest, I'm a wanna-be bonsai artist.

My name is Gil and I'm 27 years old.
Originally from Eilat, Israel. Currently live in Jersey City, NJ, USA.
Always had a warm spot in my heart for growing plants.
About a month ago, I came by a silly Japanese Black Pine Bonsai growing kit at "Urban Outfitters". It cought me hard and now I'm in love with this gentle quite art.
Same place to start, huh?

I've been watching a lot of youtube videos and bought me two bonsai instructional book - The Complete Book of Bonsai by Harry Tomlinson is one of them.
Currently, I'm working only by intuition and heart, since I don't know anyone around my area who share this interest with me and can guide and/or help.
So, I decided to join an on-line community in order to get some (hopefully positive) feedback on my work and progress.

I will soon post another topic under the proper subject, where I'll ask for feedback and possibly help with IDing a young sapling that I collected from my neighborhood and placed in a pot.

Just another peice of information about me,
I'm a musician (specifically a bass player) and a composer.
Art and creating have always been a significant part of my life.

Thanks for having me,
Gil Dekel

Welcome Gil,
You could always look for a bonsai club in your area. You can get some hands on that way, and make some new contacts that way.
